The Bulk Data Access Test Kit validates the conformance of a server implementation to a specified version of the Bulk Data Access Implementation Guide. This Test Kit currently includes export tests for STU1 and STU2 versions of this implementation guide, along with preliminary Bulk Submit tests for Data Provider and Data Consumer implementations of the Bulk Submit Operation within the ballot version of the Bulk Data Access v4.0.0 IG.

The export tests are split into three different types of bulk data export:

  • All Patients: FHIR Operation to obtain a detailed set of FHIR resources of diverse resource types pertaining to all patients
  • Group of Patients: FHIR Operation to obtain a detailed set of FHIR resources of diverse resource types pertaining to all members of a specified Group
  • System Level Export: FHIR Operation to export data from a FHIR server, whether or not it is associated with a patient

The preliminary v4.0.0 Bulk Submit tests are organized as separate Data Provider and Data Consumer suites. These preview suites are built using the ballot version of the Bulk Data Access v4.0.0 IG. The v4.0.0 specification has not yet been published as a final release and is subject to change. These suites are incomplete and may change as their coverage is expanded.

The Bulk Data Access Test Kit is built using the Inferno Framework. The Inferno Framework is designed for reuse and aims to make it easier to build test kits for any FHIR-based data exchange.
